My first time eating at Tomato & Basil Café & Pizzeria in Fairfield was with my coworker Deanne. We decided to pop in and try out the cuisine, so we sat down at a table on the patio on a beautiful early fall day, ordered our food, and dug in and enjoyed.

It’s safe to say the food there is great. It turns out our waiter also happened to be the owner Evan Snapper, and I can’t help but appreciate that the owner is so involved in his restaurant that he or she actually waits the tables there too. Now that is hands-on!

This is Tomato & Basil’s first Restaurant Week here in Fairfield, and if you haven’t been there before, now is the best time to try it out. For the week, they are offering a $15 prix-fixe lunch including a range of soups, salads and sandwiches to try, and a $30 prix-fixe three course dinner menu, including a small plate, soup, or salad, a main entrée, and of course a dessert—and there’s always their delicious pizza as well. They are known for their craft beers that they have on tap, which they are constantly rotating so that customers can try new things, and for Restaurant Week they’ll be offering a glass of house red or white wine for only $5 a glass.

So absolutely head to Tomato & Basil for a quaint little meal during Restaurant Week, and stay tuned to BizzBuzzTV for all the updates in town!
